What you send us through the quote form
When you send an enquiry, we receive what you type in: your name, phone number and suburb, and, if you fill them in, your email address, the type of job and your message about it.
We use these details to get back to you, look at the job, quote it and do the work. We don't sell them, and we don't pass them to anyone else to market to you.
How you found us
The form also sends us how you found the site: the page you first landed on, the website that sent you there (a search engine, for example), and any campaign tags or ad click reference in the link you followed, like the ones Google adds when someone clicks an ad. This tells us which advertising actually brings in work.
To do that, the site keeps those details in your own browser for up to 90 days. They stay on your device and only reach us if you send an enquiry. Clearing your browser's data for this site removes them.
The updates tick box
The quote form has a box you can tick if you'd like the occasional update from us. It stays unticked unless you tick it. If you leave it unticked, we'll only contact you about the job you asked about. If you tick it, every update we send will include a way to unsubscribe, and you can also just ask us to stop.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how people use the site: which pages they visit, roughly where they are, what device they use and how they found us. It uses cookies to do this. We also count when someone sends an enquiry or taps our phone number, without recording what they wrote or who they are. We look at this as totals, not to identify anyone.
Google handles this information under its own privacy policy. If you'd rather not be counted, Google offers a browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off.
Other services the site uses
The site is hosted by Netlify, which also receives and stores quote form submissions for us, and a copy of each enquiry is emailed to us. We keep enquiry details in the tools we use to run the business, such as our email and job records.
The map on the home page is embedded from Google Maps, and Google may collect information when it loads. The video at the top of the home page is embedded from Vimeo with Vimeo's tracking switched off.
Some of these services, including Netlify and Google, may store information on servers outside Australia.
Keeping it and keeping it safe
We keep your details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work we do for you, and for our business records after that. We take reasonable steps to keep them secure.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your details
You can ask what details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. Call 0490 397 403 or email wallyswalls@fastmail.com.
